Once again it is that time of year when we celebrate the
reason for the season and send good tidings of great joy to our dear family and
friends. We hope yours has been a fantastic year filled
with good memories, lots of hope and much cheer.
In spite of Pat’s experience with five hospital visits in 10
months, we celebrated our 65th wedding anniversary with a week in
Key West Florida, two weeks in Sarasota, Florida and a week on Kauai Hawaii. (Pat had to have a pacemaker in January.
Chronic problems with the wires that connected the pacemaker to the heart
resulted in multiple emergency room and ICU visits).
Ken still thinks he is 39 and has adapted
well to his stint as care giver in spite of having a difficult patient.
Daughter, Terri, oversees our daily activities (what did you
do today, what did you have to eat, did you do your exercises???) while
maintaining her practice as a marriage
and family therapist. We are blessed to
have her oversight and loving attention. Our son, Gary and daughter in law, Marci,
remain close by but they are looking to relocate closer to Marci’s office in
Irvine. In the interim, we are happy
that they are close by.
Granddaughter, Lauren, lives and works in Dallas and became
a proud homeowner this year. Grandson, Sean,
lives in Coronado and works in San Diego.
We do not see either of them often enough but that just makes us aware
of how much we miss and love them.
We wish you the good tidings of the season and may the spirit
of Christmas, good health and happiness abide with you throughout the New Year.
Merry
Christmas and a Happy New Year
Ken
and Pat Burns
